Release of Two New 8K Recorders

ASTRODESIGN, Inc. (Head office: Tokyo, President: Shigeaki Suzuki) has released the full-spec 8K recorder (HR-7520) and 8K video server (SR-8450).

◆Full-Spec 8K Recorder (HR-7520)

HR-7520 is a video recorder exclusively for uncompressed recording using SSD (Solid State Drive) as a recording media.

It supports uncompressed recording of 8K 120p / 100p / 60p / 50p, 4K 120p / 100p / 60p / 50p signals, and supports high frame rate signals of 240p or more by synchronous operation of multiple units.

With the optional 8TB SSD pack (MM-212), a wide range of formats is supported.

We propose the following for codec development that requires non-compression and 4K/8K high frame rate production applications.

◆8K Video Server (SR-8450)

A video server that uses SSD as a recording media and has a simultaneous recording and playback function. It loop-records up to four channels of 8K 60p YC_BC_R 4:2:2 signal and supports independent simultaneous playback of up to two channels 8K 60p YC_BC_R 4:2:2 signals.

Up to 4 hours can be recorded when 4 channels are input and up to 8 hours can be recorded when 2 channels are input. Variable slow-motion playback using a remote controller and highlight playback using a playlist are possible.

We propose the following for 8K live production applications such as sports broadcasting.
